Thanks for visiting this website. I hope you enjoy viewing a few old retrospective folios from the old traditional days of film photography and new digital images as they are published online. 🙂
Each film image had its epic journey of creation from travel time to very remote locations of Australia to managing infra-red film and darkroom antics of printing onto fibre-based photographic paper. There were often hours of darkroom time, through preparation time for matting and framing for public exhibitions.
These days, the digital era has taken hold where images can be created and processed in a fraction of the time of the old days of chemicals, film and print. However, the essence of the process of being at the location, the moment, the lighting, the composition, and the appreciation of the subject are all still relevant to hold truth in why we bother taking photographs.
The process of capturing a moment in time in a still frame for visual appreciation continues to be a passion of mine.
A few recent digital snaps taken with an old iPhone 4 are low-quality compared to film or modern digital cameras but have presented some fun time to play in a new sandpit. Check out some iPhone “snaps.“
My new aim is to re-ignite my old passion for photographing Australian landscapes and learn to use digital cameras.
The primary objective of this website is to share and view old photos and some new digital images that have yet to be taken. I am currently considering some ideas to explore for various photographic exhibition series.
The secondary aim of this website is to share some digital lessons from my new journey to relearn photography using digital systems and tools. My qualification in photography was in the era before digital. While I have explored digital photography over the last ten years as part of providing commercial services for business clients’ website objectives, I have yet to get into the complete mindset of digital creative production, so there is much for me to learn.
